Landscape-Painting

Hi all its always good to paint with oils, it is better to hold a brush and do something stupid or crazy with it than doing nothing^^. Here are two oilpaintings I did in the last two weeks, The top one is a picture of an tree I saw during a walking threw the woods, its a 50x20cm oil on canvas, took me about 2 and a half hour to get it finished what make me happy because right now I am getting more and more confident with my skillset and color mixing technique. Best book for that is btw "Color and Light" from James Gurney, helped me a lot. The other painting is also not that big and took me I think 4 to 5 hours, a little bit longer for a weaker outcome, but it was fun to train in the direction of adding points of oilcolor to get some nice colortransitions together. After all both of them are nice and it was fun to paint them, even if I think that "got lost" need some overworking, maybe in the summerbreak or something but not in the next weeks I want to paint some other stuff first ^^. Have a great day all and be happy with painting.

Mastercopy Jeremy Lipking

I love Lipking because he is not just a great craftsman, he also have a beautiful sense for everything that is going on in the face and in the gesture of a body and I want some of his greatness also in my work in some places. So I am happy that he produced such good art as seen here, so I can copy it ^^. Have a great day you all out there.

last week

Here is the stuff I did last week, started a master copy and did some portraits. These two are the best so I load them up, but still there is more work to do until I really catch the likeness of people. I worked fast because I want to try if I can still get the proportions right even when I work quickly. After all it doesnt worked out that well but I am happy with it^^. I like the two oil sketches more, not longer than 20 min each and I think I get the big read. I painted on watercolor paper what was a nice new experience because you need a lot of oil to get something down, good thing to know. Have a nice day.

Star Wars Sketchbook

By the way, I have a pretty awesome Moleskine "STAR WARS" Sketchbook :D. Its really nice to work in so I would recommend it, for the sake of drawing. But the real benefit is that I always have a smile on my face when I put it out of the backpack :)

Oil-Sketch

Ok it become more an oil sketch than actually a good painting^^. I think I did some things right but a lot of misstakes hehe, but I learned where I have to put more attention in when I am painting like that. I am sure the next one will look better so long and have a great day.

two sketches, I like the second one more, but the ribcage is off and some other stuff but I am fairly happy with it ^^

Weekend

Here is some stuff from the weekend an oil sketch that I will finish next week before class on we, of course that was the plan ^^. The other drawings are quick pen and ink works for training the silouhette a bit. Not longer than 17 min each and I am quiet happy with them. I left the blue and red lines underneath the drawing on the actually pieces, because I like it :D. Good day for you all
